Thai Tom

10 years ago I came to Thai Tom the first time, recommended by my friend as ‘the best Thai in Seattle’. She’s absolutely right! Their slightly burnt Pad Thai gets its own place in my taste buds - very addictive. Oh something else that’s cute about the restaurant - the staff give no damn about pleasing the customers - straight to the point, take it or leave it ;)

After moving to east side, we had been planning to spend one Friday a month in Seattle downtown. We kicked-off the plan with Thai Tom. This place is a hole in the wall but make sure to try them out.We were a party of 6 and reached the restaurant around 6pm. We had to wait 15 minutes to get seated on the cooking counter (which was rather pleasant considering the cold weather outside)We had a mix of vegetarians and non-vegetarians in our group. Our order was taken even before we were seated. I ordered the Rama swimming chicken curry and the rally loved my food.We paid close to $100 with tips and taxes for 7 entrees. Remember to take cash when you visit this place, they don't accept credit card.

Cash only. AMAZING thai food at a reasonable price point. Accessibility would be an issue for someone with limited mobility or who uses aids such as a wheelchair. There is often quite a wait but it is well worth it. If you’re looking to avoid the wait, or just want to eat at home, you can call your order in for pickup, I’ve done this many times and it’s always worked out great! Their time estimates are usually quite accurate.
